What is Réseau Art Actuel Portal

Réseau Art Actuel is a portal dedicated to the promotion of current contemporary art. This virtual space aims to present the broad range of activities and practices found within the contemporary art sector in Quebec and Canada as well as internationally.

Réseau Art Actuel supports the development of partnerships in order to expand both the informational and the editorial content of the portal. Through intensive use of the Web media we wish to increase the visibility and availability of information which is not only professional, exhaustive and intended for an informed clientele, but also plays a role of mediation between highly specialized practice and the general public.

Réseau Art Actuel is an initiative of the Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ).

About the Regroupement des centres d'artistes autogérés du Québec

The Regroupement des centres d'artistes autogérés du Québec is a non-profit association, committed to its 64 members' promotion and defence. The RCAAQ offers them services in training, promotion and advocacy. The artist-run centres (ARC) are managed by professional artists from visual and media arts fields. They constitute a contemporary art network, RÉSEAU ART ACTUEL, in 22 Quebec cities. Particularly, the RCAAQ aims to speak with a strong voice and advocate for a better recognition of the essential role artist run centres play in this country, contributing to the vitality and dynamism of its contemporary arts.

Artists who consider themselves injured within the context of an agreement with an RCAAQ member can file a complaint by writing to the RCAAQ Ethics Committee. All information is treated confidentially:
